A Few Favorite Books

Here are three of my favorite books. They are the biographies of George Ellery Hale, Russell W. Porter and Leslie C. Peltier. Hale and Porter were on the 200-inch Hale telescope at Mt. Palomar and Peltier was a world reknown variable star observer with the AAVSO (American Association of Variable Star Observers) until he passed away in May of 1980. Copies of these books can be obtained used and Starlight Nights is available from Sky & Telescope in a paperbound edition.
